Colour palette

bbk03_ss2010bbk09_ss2010Basso & Brooke, with thier Ready To Wear collection seem to be behaving like artists with a palette filled with the colours of the rainbow and all the different combinations they can conjure, wow, what a splash of colour they can single handedly bring on summer early with this mix of colours, but we love them for this, this a seductive collection but with a playful edge executed with a precision that does not show how difficult it truly is to combine these colours in an outfit that looks so simple, its not everybody’s cup of tea but its love them or hate them you will have to notice them. This was one of the most interesting shows of the London Fashion Week 2009.

Ready to wear By Alexander Wang

Img005_runwayImg002_runwaySir Philip Green the owner of  Topshop was in the front row at the collection, and why not? his designs are made for the new breed of cool kid—out on the town and ready for her close-up—Alexander Wang did grown-up rock chic for fall 2009. He takes the simplest things and renders them totally badass through inventive tailoring: a sharp jacket and leggings combine into a rock ’n’ roll suit; little black satin dress gets edgy-fied with strategic cutouts; a white button-down gets deconstructed and reassembled and brought back to punky, Patti Smith life. Finishing it off was plenty of oversize leather bomber jackets, studded stovepipe trousers, and sleek ’80s minidresses. The unexpectedly cool accessory: big, wide-brimmed black hats. Totally weird, totally Amish, totally cool.

where art meets design

long and flowinglong and flowing is how i would describe this look from designer matthew williamson, it epitomises what i would call an artistic design, the prints are very light and seem to have a floral influence, it looks like an unfinished sketch but its highly engaging this from his spring ready to wear 2009 collection
